Planning one last summer soiree before the season is over? Here is an easy breezy table setting idea for your last outdoor party of the season. We started with a beautiful stonewashed indigo patchwork quilt to use as a tablecloth. For the centerpiece, creamy white cutwork vases are filled with tiny battery operated twinkle lights and placed down the center of the table; these are small enough that you can still see your guests across the table. Since this quilt was the perfect backdrop for our dishes, we decided to use round wooden cutting boards for placemats; cleanup is a breeze with these – simply wipe them off when you’re done. Taking our queues from Mother Nature, we chose a combination of white, green and blue for our place settings. White dishes are a must have – they go with every color combination or just look lovely on their own. Mixing clear glasses in different patterns adds sparkle and interest to your table. Just like white dishes, clear glasses go with any table setting, so if you can’t decide which color of stemware to get, just go with clear. To stick with our easygoing theme, we added linen napkins with a creamy white stripe and border. And last but not least, more candle light. These clear glass globes come in two sizes, and are easy to hang from a tree branch or pergola at staggered heights. Don’t fuss with messy wood and sparks from a burning fire that you have to tend to, just fill the inside of the fireplace with battery operated candles, set the timers, and you’ll have hours of effortless ambiance.
